Am honoured and excited to have the opportunity to speak at the first National Industrial Emergency Medical Services (EMS) Conference in India. This was an idea conceptualised by Dr Subroto Das & his wife, Sushmita. They both started an EMS service called Lifeline after they were injured in a road traffic accident.

It is inspiring and hopeful to see how they started off and have developed since. And having attended the conference, once cannot emphasise the importance of collaboration to build a better system of care. The system is only as strong as its weakest link. Furthermore, healthcare is not just about saving lives… its about giving one a good quality of life. One of my favourite quotes from the conference,“Let's not add years to life but add life to years!!!”
